BUILDING FOR ETERNITY
“Enter to Learn and Leave to Serve”
In 1882, South Lancaster Academy opened its doors to provide a fully-rounded Christian education in New England. Thousands of students throughout the years have been able to enter to learn and leave to serve. In order to continue this legacy, we must look to how our facility can continue the challenge of educating our students in a changing world.
Our buildings were built in the mid 1960s with only minimal upgrades since then. The school board recognized that many areas were simply worn out while some were outdated and not meeting the needs of the 21st century. They looked at all possibilities, from building new to relocating to remodeling. The final decision was the Building for Eternity campaign combining the repair, updating and expansion that modern school buildings require.
We have accomplished much, some not so obvious to see, but we still have a long way to go. We are not done. Please prayerfully consider what you can do to help us reach our goal.
Support our campaign
Regular giving is extremely important. It is an easy way to make a significant contribution over a long period. You will be amazed by the ultimate total of an amount given systematically over a three-year period.
Even a few dollars given faithfully each week can transform into a substantial gift. Everyone is encouraged to give, no matter the amount or commitment. Give and watch what the Lord will do through you. Your sacrificial gift will be a blessing to you and your family and the extended SLA family as well.
With each us praying and responding to the Holy Spirit, together let’s see what God’s vision is for SLA, and let’s see to it that His vision is realized for our children and their children.
Where We Are Today
Since the inception of the BFE capital campaign In 2015, more than $200,000 has been raised and an additional in-kind donations of $100,000. These funds enabled us to complete the following parts of the BFE project:
• New roofs on both buildings
• New driveway and parking lots
• The creation of high school and elementary soccer fields
• The replacement of windows and entrance ways In the elementary building.
The original designers of the BFE project had the vision of joining the two buildings, recognizing the various benefits one building would give the school:
• Centralized administrative offices
• One main entrance
• Enhanced security features
• A cafeteria
• A chapel/performance auditorium
• Enlarged classrooms
• Full size locker room facilities
• Centralized HVAC system
• ADA accessibility
• Upgraded science facilities
The designers built the BFE program on a phase timeline. In effect, we have completed Phase 1 of the project and we are now looking forward to Phase 2.
We want to especially thank the many individuals who helped us realize the completion of Phase 1 and we look forward to the day we begin to break ground for Phase 2.
- David Branum, Principal
Our Budget
It is estimated that $8M will fund all of these dramatic renovations to our campus. By God’s grace and through His all-sustaining mercy we will raise the needed funds over the next three years, providing new facilities which will ensure that thousands of additional students over the next generation will “Enter to Learn and Leave to Serve!"
